The single-family home situated on the outskirts of Munich faces a landscaped square with a chapel dating back to the 1920s. Located on opposite sides of a residential street, the set-back entrances of the two buildings relate to each other in an urban development context.

The clear and generous floor plan provides a bright L-shaped living/dining area with an open kitchen. This encloses a compact zone accommodating an entrance hall, single flight staircase, WC and coat room. The window-perforated façade of the upper floor contains five bedrooms arranged around a hall, which is also illuminated with skylights.

A covered and protected entrance area, accessible via a concrete slab "threshold", is created by a recess in the rectangular two-storey structure on the ground floor. A wood-clad shed is attached to one side of the building and a garage to the other.

The plot slopes gently down from the road to the garden, resulting in an internal spatial boundary in the form of two broad steps between living area and terrace level.

The brick curtain wall cladding of the exterior of the residential building gives it a rather solid and severe appearance from the street. This is contrasted by floor-to-ceiling glazing on the entire south and west sides, as well as in the open and inviting entrance area. The heart of the house is the spacious and bright open living and dining area, separated from the garden by a "glass skin" that can be opened by means of large sliding elements.
